A balance transfer entails you transferring your balance from cards that have highest interest rates to those that have the lowest interest rates if you carry more than one card. As with any transaction involving your creditor, they will be fees for this balance transfer. Most card companies will charge a 3% fee for transfer. This means that if you’re transferring $20,000 then you will have a $600 transfer fee.

If you’re unable to do any balance transfers and you do not even have the fee is that is associated to transfer over $10,000 you may want to look at different options of erasing your credit card debt.
